Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy

The Environmental Protection Act requires all local authorities to inspect its area for the purpose of identifying contaminated land. Each local authority must develop and publish a strategic approach to identifying and securing the remediation of contaminated land in its area.

We first published our strategy in May 2002 with revisions in June 2012 and November 2017.

We are currently updating our latest inspection strategy which will be published here in August 2023.
