Tell us about an offence

If you are a taxi driver who holds a taxi licence issued by Liverpool City Council, you must tell us if you are arrested, convicted of a crime or are issued with a caution or fixed penalty notice.

If you are a taxi driver licensed by us, you must tell us when you are:

  • convicted of any offence in a Magistrates’ Court or Crown Court in England and Wales - this includes any motoring offence
  • convicted of any criminal offence in any other part of the United Kingdom or abroad - this includes any motoring offence
  • given a simple caution by any police force in the United Kingdom for any matter
  • given a fixed penalty notice (FPN) for any matter - this includes any motoring matter
  • arrested on suspicion of committing any offence which is sexual in nature, dishonest, violent or motoring-related
  • charged with any offence which is sexual in nature, dishonest, violent or motoring-related

When to apply for a new DBS 

If you have a new conviction you will need to get a new DBS. Once you receive your new DBS, please take clear photographs of all the pages and email them to regulatory.licensing@liverpool.gov.uk
