The percentage of all Liverpool residents whose ethnic group is White English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish or British stands at 77%.

This gives a non White English/British population of 23%.

Between 2011 and 2021, there has been population growth across all ethnic groups except White English/British (-5%), and Any Other (-7%).

The number of Other White residents in Liverpool has increased by almost 12,000 (+49%). Other notable increases have been in Other Asian (+3,649), Arab (+2,683), and Other Mixed/Multiple (+2,098) population cohorts.

The non-White English/British population as a percentage of the total population across the "new" wards ranges from 5% in Orrell Park to 69% in Princes Park.

Some 9 out of 10 of our residents regard English as their main language. Arabic (5,743) followed by Polish (4,809) are the highest non-English languages in the city.

Almost 45,000 of our residents have a main language that is not English. Of these, 4% (1,606 residents) cannot speak English and 21% (9,306) cannot speak English well.
