Goal 7 outcomes (31 to 35)

To realise our goal, we will progress the following outcomes:

  1. Creativity and cultural assets support people, neighbourhoods, and communities to flourish

We will strengthen our communities, celebrate Liverpool’s diversity and shape neighbourhoods where people are proud to live through investing in quality creative initiatives and making full use of the city’s outstanding heritage, cultural and sporting assets and expertise.

  2. The city is a thriving hub of creativity, originality and research

Liverpool will maximise the potential of key sectors – including in music, film and higher education – to transform our city for the better. Partnership working across sectors – such as between the creative industries and music – will be a hallmark of the way we work. We will ensure Liverpool becomes the most sustainable place to make a film or TV production or run a music or live event.

  3. Exciting content inspires and connects communities

We will oversee a full year-round programme across business, leisure, sport and culture to be enjoyed by even more people from around the world, whilst bringing unforgettable moments that connect our diverse communities and inspire future creative generations.

  4. Liverpool has sustained international recognition

Liverpool will tell a new, compelling story about our city. This new narrative and innovative approach to telling it, will help us stand out in a globally competitive market for investment, opportunities, and jobs. In doing so, we will build on our existing strengths in innovation and creativity – including our status as a UNESCO City of Music.

  5. The city is a must-visit destination

We will ensure Liverpool remains a vibrant and attractive destination for residents and visitors alike. Working across the city region, we will support the visitor economy to flourish and attract more international and domestic visitors who will stay in the city for longer. As tourism continues to grow, we will ensure its benefits are felt across all communities.
