Introduction
A collective statement from the executive leaders of the Liverpool Strategic Partnership

None of the challenges facing Liverpool can be tackled by any one organisation acting alone. The many positive opportunities ahead of us can only be fully exploited in a spirit of common purpose. For these reasons, key organisations across our city have come together as the Liverpool Strategic Partnership; building on many decades of positive collaboration across the city, but reinvigorated to meet the challenges of today.
Together we will work to deliver our agreed priorities, applying new ways of working, learning from best practice within and beyond the city, and applying true innovation to the most difficult challenges. We will be outward looking and ambitious, and always with a commitment to public service on behalf of the citizens of Liverpool, engaging with our diverse communities on every step of the journey.
Each of us brings our own organisational strengths and capabilities, with our own plans and priorities. We are collectively accountable for around six billion pounds in funding every year and we employ over 60,000 people, the majority of whom are also citizens of Liverpool and its city region. But, despite the positive impact we have every day, our city still faces unacceptable inequalities, child poverty, and poor health outcomes. This vision document sets out our collective ambition to address these and other issues, with a focus on delivering a fundamental transformation of Liverpool by 2040.
As an early priority, we have clarified our shared priorities, informed by evidence, and set out in this document. We are working together on reform of public services, and are now recognised nationally as a leading place for public service innovation. We are working together to tackle racism, and to support the city in addressing the underlying causes of the riots in the Summer of 2024. We will work together to shift the focus of public services to earlier intervention, preventing more serious problems that damage lives and create unsustainable burdens on public resources. And we will look to the future, to invest in the education and skills required for the modern world, secure the benefits of a net zero economy, increase the number of homes to meet the needs of a growing and changing population, and grow our economy with new businesses and new jobs.
We commit to work together to achieve these goals, to look beyond the boundaries of our individual organisations, and work tirelessly on behalf of the people of Liverpool.
