Safeguarding children's procedure

The Safeguarding Children’s Procedure manual details the procedures that should be followed where it is necessary to take action to safeguard a child from the risk of significant harm.

It has been written in line with the following government guidance:

  • Working together to safeguard children, a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Every child matters.
  • National Service Framework for children, young people and maternity services.
  • Framework for the assessment of children and need and their families.
  • Lord Laming’s report of the Victoria Climbié inquiry.

The document should be made available to any agency or professional working with children and families in Liverpool. These procedures should be followed along with the relevant individual agency procedures.
