Report a pest problem in a public space
If you are aware of a pest problem in a public area, you can report it. We can only investigate reports of rats or wasps in public spaces within the Liverpool City Council boundary.
Public spaces include areas such as parks, streets, alleyways and entries, and council-owned land or buildings - this does not include schools as they are classed as commercial spaces.
In addition to reporting the issue to us, you should also notify other services to address the likely causes or contributing factors of any infestation:
- If the cause of pests in a public space is a result of full communal bins, you should also request that these are emptied.
- If the cause of pests in a public space is a result of flytipping or passage dumping, you should also report it to street scene services.
We cannot investigate or treat pests reported on private land.
- For neighbouring properties causing a nuisance, refer to the Private Sector Housing Team.
- For issues with vacant property or land, refer to the Vacant Property Team.
Report a concern
You can report a concern about pests in public spaces online. If you have images of the pest or its location you can upload this with your report.
We do not treat bees, squirrels, moths, spiders, moles, feral cats or birds.
- If you have a 'My Account', you can keep track of the report if you are signed in. If you don't have an account, you can create one.
- You can submit your report without an account, but if you don't leave your contact details we will not be able to keep you updated on the case.
