Who is the data controller for the information I provide?

Liverpool City Council is the data controller for the information that you provide. 

Why we collect your data

In order to process your query, request for registration, information or a licence from Liverpool Market.

What is the legal basis for collecting and processing this data?

We are required to effectively deal with your query whilst ensuring data is protected as per GDPR guidelines. We will observe these guidelines while we:

  • reply to any queries submitted by you
  • contact you by post, email or telephone or SMS text

We do not capture any financial information or payments online.

Information we may collect

Where we can, we’ll only collect and use personal information if we need it to deliver a service or meet a requirement. This will also be dependent on whether you have made a query, applied for a licence or registered with us. We may collect the following:

  • basic personal information including name, address and contact details
  • business information
  • food safety information, if applicable
  • any other information you provide during an application or registration

Do I have to provide this information, and what will happen if I don’t?

You do not have to provide any of the information we ask for, but it may adversely affect your application or registration for a market stall or licence if you don’t.

Who will your information be shared with?

To process your query effectively your information will need to be shared with other departments within the council and possibly other agencies and organisations.

Within the council, your information will only be passed to officers within the relevant departments who are responsible for handling your query. In those circumstances where we are required to share your information with other organisations, we will ensure this is done in a secure manner, and that the information shared is proportionate in order for us to deal with your issue.

 

How long will you keep this information for?

How will my information be stored?

All information you provide to us will be stored in a range of different secure management systems applicable to the type of service we have been engaged to provide, on secure internal IT and email systems.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me? 

No

Will my data be transferred abroad?

No.
