NHS Health Checks in Liverpool

Find out what happens at a health check, if you’re eligible and where to get one.

An NHS Health Check looks at your risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia. It includes questions about your lifestyle and takes a range of measurements, including blood pressure, height, weight and cholesterol.

Am I eligible?

You can qualify for a free check if you: 

  • are aged 40 to 74 
  • live in Liverpool 
  • do not already have a diagnosed health condition

How to get your health check in Liverpool

If you’re eligible, your GP practice will invite you for a health check every five years. Contact your GP if you think you’re eligible but haven’t been invited.

  • Free self-service health checks 
    If you live in Liverpool you can access self-service health checks through the SISU Health Stations at Lifestyles Centres. They take just five minutes and tell you if you need to consult with a pharmacist or GP.
