Update or extend a licence

We may issue a licence for a limited time while you update your training or work status. Find out how to update it once you qualify for a full licence.

How to apply for a Right to Work extension

If you have submitted your Right to Work application to the Home Office and need a licence extension, please use the application form below and when prompted:

  • select 'remainder of licence application'
  • enter your Home Office application number or share code

We will then contact the Home Office and respond to your request. This can take up to 10 working days. 

What to do when you gain Right to Work status

When you have gained full Right to Work status, please complete the form below and when prompted:

  • select 'remainder of licence application'
  • enter your new Right to Work share code

What to do when you pass the Liverpool Standard Part 2 after an extension

If you, when enrolled onto the Liverpool Standard Part 2 course, you were issued with a six-month licence to give you time to pass the course, you must complete the form below when you have got your certificate.

You will need to upload images of your:

  • current driving licence and
  • Liverpool Standard Part 2 Certificate issued by Unite the Union

How to update your licence after a medical extension

If you were issued a limited licence for medical reasons and now have an update on your condition, please email licensing@liverpool.gov.uk and we will contact you within 10 working days.
