Report an accident in a Hackney carriage or private hire vehicle

Liverpool's licensed Hackney carriage and private hire vehicle proprietors must report an accident to us within 72 hours of it happening.

Reporting an accident is a legal requirement under Section 50 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.

When to report an accident

Liverpool licenced proprietors must report an accident to us if the vehicle is damaged and the damage affects the safety, comfort or appearance of it.

The report must be submitted within 72 hours of the accident. Failing to give the required information, or giving false or incorrect information, may result in prosecution.
