Pest control pre-treatment advice

Before we visit your property, please make sure you do the following before we arrive. If preparation has not been done before the visit, we may not be able to provide treatment.

Clear the area

  • Make sure any furniture, equipment or clutter is moved away from the area that we need to access. This will make it easier for us to carry out an assessment and provide treatment.
  • If you think the pest is located underneath floorboards, you must lift any carpet or floorboards in advance to allow the pest control officer access. If this isn't done prior to the visit, the officer will not be able to assess or treat the issue.
  • If the pest or access point is located underneath fitted kitchen units or other fixed furniture, we will not be able to treat unless you have arranged to have these removed. If we attend the property and cannot access the area, you will need to rebook once the fixed furniture has been removed.
  • If a wasp nest is difficult to locate, for example, at the back of a garden shed, please remove as much equipment as possible so the officer can access the area without aggravating the nest.
  • We treat wasp nests from the exterior of a property.
  • We do not need to enter the loft from inside to treat pests located in the loft space.
  • We use poles to treat nests where access points are below the gutter line of a standard two storey building. If the nest or access points are higher than this, we may ask you to arrange equipment for us to work safely, such as scaffolding. Once this is in place, we can treat the nest on our second visit. See terms and conditions for more detail.

Pets

  • Remove pets from the area that we are treating to ensure their safety. This also includes any belongings like food, water bowls and toys.
  • Keep pets away from the treated area until it's safe to return. This includes keeping them away from any bait or traps set. The pest control officer will provide advice after the treatment.
  • Where possible, keep the area well ventilated if treatment involves spraying.
  • Cover any fish tanks if they are within the area being treated.

Children

  • Be mindful of any traps or bait, and keep children away, even if the product we have used is non-toxic.
  • Keep children's toys away from the area being treated.
  • The pest control officer will offer more advice on the day of the visit.
