Before you start

Please make every effort to resolve your housing issue before you apply. We've a range of advice to help you if you are:

  • behind on your mortgage
  • have an eviction notice
  • a care, prison or service leaver

Evidence we may ask for

At your homeless assessment, we may ask for evidence to support your application. It will speed things up if you upload this evidence when you apply.

The type of evidence we may ask for includes:

  • proof of identity or immigration status
  • an eviction notice
  • proof of medical conditions
  • a GP’s letter that proves you are pregnant
  • your five-year address history if you have been in the UK
  • contact details for the person who wants you to leave your current property

If you can't find all the evidence we ask for, please continue with your application. You can also upload additional evidence after your form has been sent to us.

If you have done all you can to find somewhere to live, and you qualify for help, please make a homeless application. This form can also be used to refer someone you are concerned about.

You will need an email address to apply. If you don't have an email or need help finding your evidence, please call 0800 731 6844 between 9am and 4.30pm.

What happens next? 

Once you have sent your application, you will receive an email and a call from us when will ask some initial 'triage' questions. We will then book you in for an assessment.
