Fees and charges
We have discontinued all concession memberships. From September 1st 2025, all adult users must pay the standard adult fees and charges.
Reservation charges
Charges for reserving books, spoken word items and CDs.
- Adults: 80p
- Children, teenagers reserving children’s titles: No charge
CD borrowing charges
- Adults: 60p
- Non-resident adults: £1.20
Late return charges
Children do not have to pay late return charges. There are also no late return charges for e-books loaned from Read Liverpool.

How to pay
You can pay library charges in person when you visit any library. Library staff will inform you of the amount you need to pay. Contactless payment is only available in Central Library.
Lost library card
Contact your library to let them know you've lost your card. Staff will add a note to your account and issue a new card on your next visit - remember to bring a form of ID with you. The first replacement card is free then 60p for additional replacements.
Photocopying, printing and scanning charges
Computers are free to use but you will be charged the following fees per side of printing, photocopying and scanning.
- Black and white A4: 20p per sheet (10p for children and teens)
- Black and white A3: 30p per sheet (10p for children and teens)
- Colour A4: 50p per sheet (20p for children and teens)
- Colour A3: £1.30 per sheet (50p for children and teens)
- Scan to email: Free of charge
