Blue badge parking bays
Where can I park?
If you have a blue badge you can park in any on street Pay and Display bays and in most of the city's Pay and Display car parks free of charge, with no time limit. Badge holders must ensure that a valid blue badge is clearly on display in the windscreen, so the date of expiry and issuing council are clearly visible from outside the vehicle. This is specified in your Blue Badge Scheme booklet.
Exception
The exception to this is Mount Pleasant Multi-Storey car park, which has 37 dedicated disabled parking bays on level 5. If blue badge holders park in non-disabled bays, you may receive a penalty charge notice if you have not purchased a valid pay and display ticket. For further guidance, read page 17 of the Department for Transport's 'Blue Badge Scheme' booklet.
Single or double yellow lines
Badge holders can park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, except where there is a ban on loading or unloading. Both the blue badge and clock must be displayed showing the date of expiry and your time of arrival. You should ensure that no obstruction or danger is caused to other road users. For more information regarding the dos and don'ts of the Blue Badge Scheme, read the Department for Transport's 'Blue Badge Scheme' booklet.
City centre parking bays
Blue Badge holders can park in designated Blue Badge bays, and any other pay and display bays, free of charge all day. Find out on street parking bays.
Visitors from overseas
Blue Badges issued in your home country are accepted while visiting Liverpool. Your Blue Badge must be displayed clearly on the nearside dashboard of the vehicle so that it can be easily and safely read from outside.
Where a time limit applies, the Blue Badge must be accompanied by a Blue Badge parking clock to remain valid. We recognise that the use of a parking clock is not a requirement in all countries. If your country does not issue parking clocks, you will need to obtain one before visiting Liverpool to ensure your badge is valid when parking in time-limited Blue Badge bays.
Blue Badge parking clocks can be purchased online from a range of online retailers, including Amazon and eBay.
How to use the Blue Badge parking clock: If you park where there is a time limit for Blue Badge holders, place your Blue Badge on the nearside dashboard so it can be clearly and safely seen from the outside the vehicle. Set the parking clock to show the time you arrived and display it alongside your Blue Badge. The clock should show the nearest quarter hour after your arrival time (for example, if you arrive at 10:10am, set the clock to 10:15am). Both the Blue Badge and parking clock must remain visible while you are parked.
