Apply for or renew a Blue Badge
How to apply online for a new Blue Badge or renew your existing one.
Who can get a Blue Badge?
A Blue Badge helps you park closer to your destination if you have a severe mobility problem or a hidden disability that makes it hard for you to use public transport.
Blue Badges are given to either the driver or the passenger of a vehicle they are travelling in. You may automatically qualify for a Blue Badge or need to be assessed.
A Blue Badge does not give you licence to park anywhere - for instance you must not park in business permit bays or in any place where you cause an obstruction or danger to other road users. You can be fined, be given a Penalty Charge Notice or have your vehicle removed if you park illegally.
Before you apply
Some people will automatically qualify - check if you automatically qualify on GOV.UK. Other people will have to meet the eligibility criteria set out in the application form.
