Call it! Enjoy more, drink less is a city-wide effort to make nightlife across Merseyside safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
We’re working with bars, clubs, and nightlife partners to help create places where people can have a great night out while staying safe. This includes supporting venues to follow the law and refuse alcohol to anyone who is clearly drunk.
Section 141 of the Licensing Act 2003
Under Section 141 of the Licensing Act 2003, it’s illegal to knowingly serve someone who is already intoxicated.But enjoying more isn’t just about the venues. It starts with all of us. Many people like a drink on a night out, but everyone has a limit. Knowing when to call it helps you get the most out of your night, avoid harm, and look out for the people around you.
It’s also important to remember that it’s illegal to buy alcohol for someone who is clearly drunk, with fines of up to £1,000.
By calling it early, supporting responsible service, and looking out for one another, we can help make nights out across our city safer, so everyone can enjoy more.
