Food hygiene rating - your right to reply

You can reply to the findings of an inspection and your comments will be posted for your customers to view on the Food Standards Agency website next to your rating.

In your reply you can explain:

• what action you have taken to make the changes requested at the inspection
• any circumstances which might help people understand why certain failings were found on the day of the inspection

This process is not designed for making a complaint about the scheme or a food safety officer.

How to reply

Please use the form below. You will need the name of the food safety officer that carried out the inspection - their details can be found on the written notification of your food hygiene rating.

What happens next?

Your comments will be published online and displayed next to your food hygiene rating on the Food Standards Agency website.

A food safety officer may edit the comments to remove any offensive or defamatory remarks before they are published.

A statement on the website also highlights the fact that your comments have not been verified by us.
