Before you issue a notice of assignment, sub-letting or charge on a leasehold property, you may need to ask the council for consent.

You should check the clauses set out in the lease, which will tell you what our requirements are. If consent is needed, you should not issue a notice to us until we have given consent.

What happens next?

We will review your request and contact you within 28 days. A fee will be payable and we will advise you of the amount when we contact you.

Once consent has been approved, we will send you a copy of the approved consent notice. You can then go ahead and submit a notice of assignment, sub-letting or charge on the leasehold property.

You will need to upload a copy of the consent with your application.
