Opening and closing times for our core services in Liverpool over the festive period, December 2025 to January 2026.
One Stop Shops
Closed for face-to-face appointments from Monday 22nd December 2025 until Friday 2nd January 2026. Some telephone appointments will be available.
Contact Centre
- Wednesday 24th December 2025: 9am-4.30pm
- Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th and 31st December 2025: 9am-4.30pm
- Thursday 1st January 2026: Closed
- Friday 2nd January 2026: 9am-4.30pm
Social care
Adult and children's social care will remain open 24/7 for enquiries and referrals over the festive period, including Christmas Day.
Libraries
All libraries will open as usual until Tuesday 23rd December 2025. They will then close until Monday 5th January 2026 with the exception of the libraries listed below.
- Wednesday 24th December 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.30pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Saturday 27th December 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.00pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Monday 29th December 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.30pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Tuesday 30th December 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.30pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Wednesday 31st December 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.30pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Thursday 1st January 2026: New Year’s Day all libraries are closed.
- Friday 2nd January 2026: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4.30pm. All other libraries are closed.
- Saturday 3rd January 2025: Central Library, Allerton and Norris Green open 10am-4pm. All other libraries are closed.

Adult Learning Centres
- Norris Green is closed from Monday 15th December 2025 until Monday 5th January 2026.
- Park Road and Newsham are closed from Monday 22nd December 2025 until Monday 5th January 2026.
- Granby Street is closed from Wednesday 24th December 2025 and re-opens on Monday 5th January 2026.
Markets
- Greatie Market: Open Saturday 20th December 2025, 8am-3pm. Closed Saturday 27th December 2025. Reopens 3rd January 2026, 8am-3pm.
- Garston Market: Open Friday 19th December 2025, 9am to 3pm. Closed on Friday 26th December 2025 and Friday 2nd January 2026. Reopens on Friday 9th January 2026, 9am-3pm
- Tuebrook Car Boot and Market: Open Saturday 20th December 2025, 8am-2pm. Closed Thursday 25th and Saturday 27th December 2025. Closed Thursday 1st January 2026. Reopens Saturday 3rd January 2026, 8am-2pm.
- Stanley Park Market: Final market for 2025 is Wednesday 24th December, 9am- 2pm. Returns in late March 2026.
- Liverpool Food HUB Wholesale Market: Open Wednesday 24th December 2025, 4am-11am. Closed Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th December 2025. Open Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st December 4am-12pm. Closed Thursday 1st January 2026.
Coroners Court
- Wednesday 24th December 2025 - closes at 1pm. Reopens at 9.15am on Monday 29th December 2025.
- Wednesday 31st December 2025 - closes at 1pm. Reopens at 9.15am on Friday 2nd January 2026.

Bins and recycling collections
Check your bin collection dates for the Christmas holiday period using our postcode look-up. Stickers have also been placed on your bins showing your revised collection dates over Christmas and the New Year.
You can recycle your real Christmas tree at one of our drop off points in January 2026.
