- Improves local partnership approaches to supporting community resilience by funding projects to strengthen ‘bridging’ social capital in at-risk places.
- Improves the capability of places to tackle the extreme narratives and ideologies that are driving our communities apart.
- Brings communities together to improve cohesion and reduce divisions in places facing extremism challenges.

What happens next?
The Grants and Performance Team will carry out due diligence on all eligible applications using the UK Civil Service’s Spotlight system (youtube.com).
All eligible applications will be assessed by a panel of LCC officers from the Safer and Stronger Communities Team with specialist knowledge and experience of community safety and cohesion. When making decisions, officers will aim to ensure all of the four objectives listed above are met, considering geographical spread across the city, and specifically targeted towards under-represented groups.
Jo Richmond, LCC Director for Safer City and Communities, will make all funding decisions which are final.
Unsuccessful applicants will not have the right of appeal.
We will inform applicants of our decision in February 2025 and successful applicants will receive payment in March 2025.
