Crime and safety
Request an alleygate key or report a fault
Alleygates are placed in alleyways and passages to prevent and reduce burglary and criminal damage, including anti-social behaviour.
What happens next?
We will write to you confirm we can give you a new or replacement key and tell you to pay.
Is there a charge?
Residents of pension age do not have to pay for a new or replacement key. All other residents, including landlords of pension age who do not live in the property, will be charged £6 per key.
You can pay online below or over the phone by calling 0151 233 3001. Quote your application reference number when making your payment.
Keys are cut to order. Do not pay for more keys than your letter states are ready for you to collect.
You will be given a payment reference number as proof of payment - please make a note of this as you will need this when you collect your key.
Where do I collect my key?
Alleygate keys must be paid for before collection - please bring your payment reference number.
Keys can be collected from:
Newton Road Depot (off Prescot Road)
The letter you receive will tell you when your collection day and time is.
You will need to show two forms of ID with proof of your address when collecting your key, along with your payment receipt number for the £6 fee.
Proof of ID can be a rent or mortgage agreement and a utility bill.
