Help when you are in danger

If you or your children are at risk of serious harm, always call the police on 999. You can also contact the police on their non-emergency number 101. 

If you are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired, you can contact the Police in emergencies by calling 18000.

If you need to leave your home now, can you:

  • stay with friends or relatives?
  • find a place of refuge?

Make sure you leave with a change of clothes, toiletries and any medication you need. Take important items such as your passport, credit or debit cards and your mobile phone too.

Don't decide to give up your home up until you have considered all your options and spoken to us.

If we have a duty to, we will get you into emergency accommodation and arrange an interview with Housing Options team the next working day.
