How to pay care charges

Online

We accept Visa Credit, Visa Debit, UK Maestro, International Maestro, Mastercard, Electron, and JCB.

You can pay online for residential or non-residential care. 

You'll need to enter your 18 or 19 digit payment reference number and the amount you've been asked to pay.

Pay online

By phone

Call 0151 233 3051 and have your credit or debit card, and your 18 or 19 digit payment reference number ready.

You can also call the free phone number 0800 028 3707, free from landlines. Charges may apply from mobile phone providers - contact your service provider for more information.

Set up a standing order

If you know your 18 or 19 digit payment reference number and the amount you need to pay you can set up a standing order by giving your bank the following information:

  • Account name: Liverpool City Council
  • Sort code: 090720
  • Account number: 06885438

Alternatively, you can complete our care payment enquiry form and request that a standing order form be posted to you.

Or, you can email benefits.service@liverpool.gov.uk with the 18 or 19 digit payment reference number and name of the person who is requesting the standing order, or call 0151 233 3051. Any overpayments will be refunded.

At a Post Office

To pay at the Post Office you will need to take your 18 or 19 digit payment reference number so that your account can be credited.

By cheque

Make cheques payable to Liverpool City Council. Include your name, address and a covering letter and your 18 or 19 digit payment reference number. Send to either:
