Bins and recycling
Keep Liverpool Tidy
We have teamed up with Keep Britain Tidy to improve how we tackle refuse and waste issues in Liverpool and help you play a more active role in cleaning up our city.
Look out for our campaigns now and in 2023, and help us bring about positive change.
Local communities and businesses play an active role in cleaning up our city. This includes volunteer groups who carry out regular litter picks and clean-ups. Contact us to find out more about groups in your area.
Tell us about your event
If your group is holding a clean-up event, we can help to promote it. Contact us with your event details.
Want to start a group or collection?
If you want to organise a litter pick you will need to consider:
- where you want to clean-up
- any permissions you may need
- the equipment you need
- what to do with the litter you collect
- how to keep your group safe
Need to order equipment?
Keep Liverpool Tidy may be able loan your group equipment for a community clean-up - equipment includes hand-held litter pickers, bag hoops, refuse sacks and high visibility vests. Contact us to request equipment.
Educating our children about litter is key to improving and eliminating waste in the future. Why not sign up for Keep Britain Tidy’s award winning environmental education programme ‘Eco-Schools’ and gain their Green Flag Status.
Our recycling team is also offering free, fun educational lessons to all primary and secondary schools. Topics covered in our sessions include:
- dog fouling
- advice and guidance on signing up to Keep Britain Tidy eco-schools programme.
Pupils will discover that by making small changes and spreading the word at home, they can each make a big impact to improve the environment for everyone.
