Assisted bin collections
If you live alone and are unable to put your bins out because of ill health or disability, and there is no one else who could put your bins out for you, you can request an assisted collection.
This service is only for people with permanent or short-term medical conditions who live alone and do not have anyone else to assist with presenting the bins for collection. It is not to request assistance with collections if you work away from home.
How to apply
Apply for or renew an assisted collection
What happens next?
We aim to review your request in 7 working days. We will let you know if we need any more information from you.
If your application is successful we will arrange for the refuse collectors to take your bin out and return it once emptied.
- If your property is detached or semi-detached, bins should remain at the front of your property.
- For other properties, such as terraced homes, where bins are normally stored in a gated alleyway, we will collect from the rear of the property.
How long do assisted collections last?
Assisted collections will last for 2 years. If you still need help to put your bins out after this time, you will need to reapply for the service.
