If you have a smartphone, you can book a video appointment with a trained adviser for specialised help with benefits and council tax issues.

We cannot offer a translation service for video appointments, but please contact us about other translation services using the links above. 

What advice can I ask for when I book an appointment?

We understand that there may be times when you need a ‘face-to-face’ video appointment. You can book a video appointment to discuss a:

  • benefits letter you have received
  • housing benefit over payment
  • council tax or housing benefit appeal or dispute
  • council tax-related letter

The adviser can only discuss the issue you select at the time you book your appointment.

What technology will I need?

You will need a smartphone with internet access. You will need to make sure your smartphone has the latest update on it.

Once you have booked your appointment, we will send you a confirmation email. You will get a follow-up text at the time of your booking with a unique link to join your video appointment.

On the day of your appointment

At the time of your booking you will get a text with a unique link to join your video appointment.

When prompted, please allow access to our camera, microphone and preferred web browser and ensure your phone is connected to 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi internet coverage. Sessions may be recorded for training purposes. 

You must have copies of any letters or documents you want to discuss with you.
