Find a lost dog or report a stray dog
All local councils have a duty to pick up stray dogs. Any dog found wandering public spaces alone is classed as a stray, even if they have a collar and ID tag.

Report illegal dog breeding or imports
If you have purchased a dog from an unlicensed breeder, believe someone is operating illegally or importing dangerous breeds, you should tell us.
Report welfare concerns about an animal business
We can investigate and prosecute licensed animal premises in breach of welfare conditions. This includes pet shops, dog care centres or anyone with live animals in their business.
Microchipping your dog
It is a legal requirement for all dog owners to have their dogs microchipped, and address details kept up to date. Failure to do so could lead to a fine.
