Missed bin collection
Find out about bins we don't collect and when you can report a missed bin collection.
Bins we won't collect
- We will not collect bins if they are too heavy or contain incorrect materials — please check what can go in each bin.
- A yellow sticker means your bin contains incorrect items. Please remove the incorrect items and present the bin again on the next scheduled collection date.
- We do not collect side waste — extra bags of general waste or recycling left next to your bin on collection day.
- We will not collect missed green bins if your subscription has expired. Pay for or renew your green bin subscription.
Before you report a missed collection
Before you report a missed bin collection, please check that:
- Your bin was put out before 6:30am.
- It was presented on the correct collection day.
When can I report a missed collection?
You can report a green bin as soon as it is missed on the scheduled collection day — please check you have an active green garden waste subscription.
You can report a blue, purple or food waste bin if it has not been collected by 2pm on the scheduled collection day.
Reporting deadline
You must report a missed collection by 2pm on the next working day. This allows us to return and empty the bin.
If you do not report it within this timeframe, you will need to wait until your next scheduled collection.
Communal bins
Communal bins are emptied every two days. You can also report a communal bin that needs emptying — find out more about communal bins.
