Parking and arrival at Liverpool Register Office
Wedding cars
You can book access to St George’s Plateau, so you can alight close to the Hall and be met afterwards at the foot of the south steps.
A fee is payable – please email stgeorgeshall@liverpool.gov.uk to book your space. 48 hours notice is required.
Please note, access to the plateau cannot be guaranteed and may be restricted due to other events taking place at St George’s Hall.
Guest parking
Although there is no onsite parking available for guests, there are a number of car parks in close proximity to St George’s Hall. The closest are:
- Lime Street Station Long Stay, Lord Nelson Street, L3 5QB.
- St John’s Shopping Centre, St George’s Place, L1 1LQ.
- Queen Square, Whitechapel, L1 1RH.
Not all car parks have wheelchair accessible spaces.
Victoria Street car park (entrance on Crosshall Street) has wheelchair accessible spaces – blue badge holders pay the same parking fee.

Statutory ceremonies
Entrance is via the Visitor Centre at the top of St John’s Lane.
Enhanced ceremonies
Entrance is via the Power and Glory Landing, which you can access via the south entrance to the Hall. This is where your guests should wait prior to the ceremony. This entrance has 20 steps.
Accessibility
If anyone has difficulty using the steps to get to the Power and Glory Landing, you should enter via the Visitor Centre and take the lift to level 2 (as you come in through the entrance turn left to the lifts). The Power and Glory Landing is opposite the lift exit. This route is step free.
There is an accessible toilet at entry level (to the right as you arrive). There are also accessible toilets on the 3rd floor close to the ceremony rooms.
