Special Day, Special Way
Liverpool has many stunning venues approved for civil marriages and partnerships. However, the law restricts the rooms within the approved venues and the content of your ceremony.
Our ‘Special Day Special Way’ package allows you to hold your ceremony in a part of the venue that is not approved – for example, a garden or terrace – and to personalise your ceremony exactly as you choose.
The inclusive package includes:
- booking fees for both ceremonies
- the legal ceremony, registration and marriage certificate
- your personalised celebration ceremony
- a commemorative certificate presented on your celebration day.
The legal ceremony and registration must take place first at the Registration Office in St George’s Hall and can be as simple as you wish. You don’t even need to exchange rings if you would prefer to keep them until your celebration ceremony.
Cost
We have two packages for you to choose from:
Package 1: Standard statutory ceremony (available Monday to Thursday up to 10.30am) followed by the celebration ceremony at your chosen venue – £550.
Package 2: Ceremony in the Sefton Room (available Monday to Friday 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-5pm) followed by the celebration ceremony at your chosen venue – £700.

How to book
You can provisionally book a time slot online for the superintendent registrar and registrar to conduct your legal and celebratory ceremonies, up to two years in advance.
It will ask you to confirm your choice of package (see above for options) and to choose a date and preferred time for the legal ceremony and celebration ceremony.
You’ll be prompted to pay a provisional booking fee of £30 when you submit your application.
Make provisional booking and payment
Read our privacy notice which tells you how we use your data.
Once you have made a provisional booking for your ceremony package, you will receive an email confirmation to the email address you have provided.
Please note that your provisional booking simply retains a time slot for a registrar to attend your ceremony. Your marriage/civil partnership ceremony cannot take place until your legal notices have been given.
