Domestic Abuse Support within Safe Accommodation Small Grants
We are seeking to award grants of up to £50,000 to third sector organisations to provide support to victims of domestic abuse, and their children, who reside in relevant safe accommodation.
Applications open: Monday 23rd June 2025
Applications close: 5pm on Friday 18th July 2025
Who can apply?
Only organisations currently based in or operating in Liverpool can apply for this grant funding. Partnership bids are welcome from organisations working together to support people residing in safe accommodation.
What is this funding for?
Please see the definition of 'relevant safe accommodation' in the grant specification document posted under 'How to apply' on this page.
We have received guidance from the Government stating what constitutes an appropriate use of Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 ‘new duties’ funding.
Government guidance states ‘Domestic abuse support provided through the exercise of the functions in Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 includes the expert help provided to victims by the specialist staff in domestic abuse safe accommodation support services.
It is recognised that some support is directly provided on site, for instance within refuges, whereas other support will be provided to victims through a support worker visiting them, including in their own homes in the case of a sanctuary scheme. However, in all cases support is provided to victims who reside in relevant safe accommodation’.
Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, and associated guidance, is limited to accommodation-based support and does not include other support which may be provided to victims of domestic abuse for example in community-based locations.
How much money is available?
There is a total budget of £239,173 available for these projects. Organisations can apply for a maximum of £50,000. Only one application per organisation can be considered.
