Calderstones Park
Calderstones is a stunning 94-acre family park in South Liverpool boasting woodland, lake and fields (and a thousand-year-old oak tree), and beautiful Japanese and old English gardens. An angling permit is required if fishing in the lake.

You can access the park via Calderstones Road, Allerton Road, Harthill Road and Yew Tree Road.
Parking is available at Calderstones Road and Yew Tree entrances.
Opening hours
The main park is open 24-hours a day, all year round. Garden areas will close at different times depending on the season. Opening hours for the Storybarn, Mansion House, cafe and Ice Cream Parlour vary - see below for details.
Parking
Parking is available at Calderstones Road and Yew Tree entrances. A small car park is also located near the Storybarn.
Miniature Railway
The railway is at the Harthill Road end of the park and runs every Sunday from 2pm-4pm, weather permitting. Rides are free, but donations are welcome. More about Merseyside Live Steam and Model Engineers on Facebook.
Playground
The Linda McCartney playground is suitable for toddlers and young children with slides, swings, climbing frame, roundabout, spinners and spiders web. An adjacent wooded play area includes a larger climbing frame, balance beams and spinner.
The Mansion House
The grade II listed building is a public space for reading groups, art, yoga and exhibition rooms for you to explore. More about the Mansion House and opening hours.
The Reader Cafe
Located in The Mansion House, the cafe offers breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, snacks, salads, soups and desserts, as well as two bookshelves full of books to enjoy while eating. More about the cafe and opening hours.
Ice Cream Parlour

Storybarn
An interactive story-centre for young people to explore, share and discover their love of books. More about the Storybarn and opening hours.
Fitness equipment
A range of weatherproof fitness equipment to improve health and fitness, including a surfer, space walker and leg press.

Parks byelaws
So that everyone can enjoy our parks and open spaces we have policies and byelaws in place which cover:
- Protection of the ground, its wildlife and the public
- Horses, cycles and vehicles
- Play areas, games and sports
- Waterways
- Model aircraft
Byelaws are local laws made by the council, which means we can issue penalties and act to protect property and individuals.
