Woodland site
The Woolton Village/High Street entrance to the wood includes reproduction ornamental iron gates based on a design from Victorian times. The main woodland site sits at the peak of a south westerly facing sloping field known as Camp Hill, the site of an ancient Iron Age Fort.
Walled Garden
At the edge of the woodland, the walled garden features the Floral Cuckoo Clock which was presented to the public in 1927 by the family of James Bellhouse Gaskell, in memory of his long connection with Woolton Wood.
Views over the Mersey
At the centre of the park at Camp Hill, as you come out of the woodland, is a spectacular view over the River Mersey to the Welsh hills. A great spot for some hill rolling or a family picnic.
