The easiest way to pay is to set up a monthly Direct Debit.
You can also pay online, over the phone or at a post office or PayPoint outlet.
If you have moved into a Liverpool property you need to register for Council Tax with us.

If there has been a change in your circumstances you need to tell us as this may affect your bill.
For example:
- Name change
- Moving house or leaving Liverpool
- Someone's moved in or out
- Someone in your household has turned 18
If someone in your household has recently passed away you must tell us.
Check balance and download bills
If you manage your account online you can check your balance and payments and download bills.
It takes up to 5 working days for payments to show on your bill. Sign in to your Council Tax account to check your balance.

Only contact us if it's been longer than 5 working days since you made your payment.
If you have moved to the area or changed address you need to register for Council Tax with us before we can send you a bill.

If you have previously received bills for your current address please check your email as you may have opted to go paperless.
You can view your bills online if you manage your account online.
We send out Council Tax bills for the year ahead by the end of March.
Your bill is broken down into different parts.
When we calculate your Council Tax we assume there are two adults in a property.
If one of the adults falls into a specific category then you may get a reduction on your bill, but you need to tell us.

Your Council Tax reference (account number) and online key are printed in the top right corner of your latest bill or summons notice.
You'll need both of these if you want to set up your account online.
If you don't have a copy of your bill and can't find your account number or online key, contact us.
